Back when I was a kid I thought that old people were so lame and boring.
- All they wanted to talk about were stupid things like work, politics, buying a new heating and cooling unit, and plenty of other boring stuff.
My friends and I would always be so bored when all of our parents would get together that we would try to sneak away without being seen. Now that I am an adult with kids of my own I am starting to see myself turning into that boring adult that I hated as a kid. The other day while I was at home I was talking to my neighbor about the brand new radiant flooring that he just had installed in his home for nearly an hour and a half. As I began to ask him what he thought of the overall service of the HVAC ventilation, heating and cooling company he hired, I hear my son yell “for pete’s sake shut up already!” from his room upstairs. I would say that stuff like this is rare, but in fact it happens nearly every day. Whenever we are at neighborhood barbeques or any other family friendly events, all of us adults will go off on extremely long tangents and only stop when the kids tell us that they have had enough and can’t hear anymore. It blows my mind how I used to hate the classic HVAC talk, and now I can’t help myself when it comes to blabbering on about it. I guess it’s just a part of life that you have to accept when you get older.
