When my wife had this fireplace added on to the construction of our house, I’ll admit I was a little skeptical. A wood burning fireplace I understood–you can cook on it plus heat with it should the worse happen plus you lose power while in a severe Winter time storm. But what on earth was the point of a gas powered fireplace? Weren’t she plus I already going to be paying for oil? She assured me that she had had the full discussion with our construction business plus the local heating plus cooling business. They explained to her how much money she would save off the cost of our house heating bill, plus how simple plus efficient it would be to maintain. When the house was finished, I will have to admit that it did look legitimately nice. It looks like a real fireplace, but the glass is a plate that can be slid out for cleaning. There no doors that need to be opened to feed the fire. All you do is flick a switch by the hearth, plus the pilot light plus gas Springtime a real fire to life. I can curl up plus learn with the pet while my wife watches a show, plus no one has to get up to tend to the fire. Best of all, the two of us can turn on the fireplace after the sun goes down, rather than turn up the central oil gas furnace to fend off the fast dropping temperatures. Sure enough, my wife was right. The people I was with and I can go a lot longer before the two of us have to fill up the tank for the oil gas furnace thanks to gas fireplace than the two of us were in the outdated house without.
